Multicomfort house student contest



During 3 days, between 27th and 29th May, 51 student teams from 20 countries, 29 nationalities, competed in the 11th International Stage of the MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST in Astana, Kazakhstan. Participants were coming from: Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, UK and Ukraine.

The event, dedicated to architecture students, aims at better disseminating the ideas of energy efficiency as well as the different comfort dimension among these future opinion leaders. It is based on the MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST and it was originally held at international level in Bulgaria in 2005.

The competition is structured in 2 stages: national stages followed by an international one were the best projects from each country compete.

For 2015 edition, 1300 students from more than 90 universities registered for the participation to the national stages.

The participants to MULTICOMFORT HOUSE STUDENTS CONTEST 2015 Edition were requested to design a vision for "Residential function in cold climate: Astana, Kazakhstan", in accordance with Saint-Gobain MULTICOMFORT Concept.

The contest started with the opening of poster exhibition giving the participants as well as jury  members a first chance to see all the proposed projects and a guided tour through Astana city .

During the second day each participating team had the opportunity to present their design and ideas to the jury and other participants as well as to friends and colleagues watching them online as the event was webcast live. 
The presentation sessions were held on the Nazarbayev University, a modern and rapidly developing international university initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The third day was reserved for awarding ceremony.
